First name

Required. Account holder first name (legal / KYC). Maps to Open Sub Account firstName.

Last name

Required. Account holder last name (legal / KYC). Maps to lastName.

Customer type

Required. additionalCustomerInfo.customerType — whether the party is an individual or business.

Identity (EWB)

Fields below follow East West Bank Open Sub Account rules for the selected customer type.

Date of birth

Individual only. additionalCustomerInfo.dateOfBirth (YYYY-MM-DD). Required by EWB for individuals.

Tax ID (SSN / ITIN)

Required for EWB. additionalCustomerInfo.taxIdNumber — SSN/ITIN (individual) or EIN (business), unless you use Other ID in optional fields.

Contact & address

Phone and email are sent on the request root; street and country go in additionalCustomerInfo. City, state, and ZIP are optional—see Optional & additional below.

Phone number

Contact. Root field phoneNumber (not inside additionalCustomerInfo).

Email

Contact. Root field emailAddress.

Address line 1

Required. additionalCustomerInfo.addressLine1 — primary street address.

Country

Required. ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 (e.g. USA).

Pre-populated fields

We've started these from your master account. Sub account type and sweep indicator are required for the API.

Master account number

Required. masterAccountNumber — parent master account. Always matches the read-only Master tab value for this deployment.

Sub account type

Required. subAccountType — Analyzed vs NonAnalyzed. Default: Analyzed.

Sweep indicator

Required. sweepIndicator — whether sweep behavior applies. Default: false.

Optional & additional

City, state, ZIP, sweep details, IDs, and ACH—leave blank when not needed; safe placeholders are sent for empty address parts.

City

Optional. additionalCustomerInfo.city. If left blank, a placeholder is sent (prefer real values when you have them).

State / region

Optional. additionalCustomerInfo.state. If blank, a short placeholder is used.

ZIP / postal code

Optional. additionalCustomerInfo.zip. If blank, a placeholder is used.

Sweep type

Optional when sweeps apply. Default: Excess.

Peg balance

Optional. pegBalance when sweep rules use it. Default sent: 0.

Other ID number

Optional. additionalCustomerInfo.otherIdNumber — use instead of Tax ID when applicable. Individuals still need date of birth; provide Tax ID or Other ID.

Customer ID

Optional. customerId — bank-assigned customer identifier when already known.

ACH transactions allowed

Optional. EWB expects values like All, Debits only, Credits only, None (see Open Sub Account spec).
